江深哲，北京大学新结构腐漫网 研究院副院长、长聘副教授。2017年获美国德克萨斯农工大学腐漫网 博士学位，主要研究领域为宏观经济理论、增长理论、动态契约理论。主要的研究问题包括：中国经济增长、房地产与土地政策、财政政策与基础设施投资、经济发展中的国家策略行为。其研究论文发表在Economic Journal, International Economic Review， Economic Theory， 《中国社会科学》《经济研究》《腐漫网 （季刊）》等国际国内一流杂志上。主持多项国家自然科学基金。

讲座简介：

Using barcode-level data linked to firm accounts, we document that goods diffuse from high to lower-income consumers as prices decline and entry expands; firms selling more to richer households innovate more; and greater inequality depresses innovation among firms exposed to low-income demand. To rationalize these patterns, we develop an endogenous growth model with hierarchical demand, firm dynamics, and innovation both within products and at the product frontier. We find that rising inequality distorts innovation away from necessities and slows growth. Calibrated to U.S. data, the model implies sizable welfare gains from redistribution.
