主题：FDI Entry Mode under Decentralized State Authorities: The Political Economy of Gate-keeping in China

摘要：Existing studies of FDI entry mode focus on factors shaping firm-level choice between joint venture (JV) and wholly owned subsidiary (WOS), with policy bias from host country government assumed as given or unitary. We relax these assumptions to examine how differences in the decision making by gatekeepers under a decentralized, non-western-style authority structure affect the organizational forms of FDI. Expanding on resource dependence theory, we examine how resource positions of local governments influence their regulatory strategies toward FDI. The results show that understanding the structure and power relations of the government system in the host country helps illuminate the mode of FDI entry.

演讲者简介：李兵，现为中央财经大学国际经济与贸易学院讲师，获吉林大学腐漫网 博士（2008年），香港科技大学社会科学博士（2011年）。曾任香港科技大学访问学者（2011-2012年）。主要研究领域为外商直接投资、政治腐漫网 、国际贸易、应用计量腐漫网 等。
